What the record does is give you specifics to point at — when you started, how long you worked, how much you cut and rewrote, whether anything large arrived in one paste — instead of a general denial. In a meeting about an accusation, specifics beat insistence.
Timestamps, the document length after each edit, characters added, characters removed, and a flag when a single insertion is large enough to be a paste rather than typing. Not the text. The report you export commits to your document with a hash, so it proves the record belongs to that exact draft without the record itself carrying what you wrote.
Every report is signed with an ECDSA P-256 key generated in your browser, and it carries the matching public key and a fingerprint. Anyone can drop the file on the verify page and get a yes or no on the signature, plus a check that the text they were handed matches the hash in the report. The format is documented and the verification runs in their browser, not on our server.
The record will show exactly that: one large insertion, no revision history behind it. That is the truthful outcome and the tool will not pretend otherwise. If you drafted in Word or Docs, their own version history is the stronger artefact — export that. Use this when you are writing here from the start.
